"I was born and raised in Ayrshire. I moved away to undertake my veterinary degree at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in Edinburgh. However, after graduation in 2011, I returned to Ayrshire to work in mixed animal practice. When I decided I wanted to focus solely on small animals, I moved to The Oaks in June 2014."Jamie's hobbies include dog walking, whisky and gin tasting, playing pool and hosting barbeques - when the weather suits!"
Jamie loves the variety of patients and problems he gets to see on a daily basis but in particular, he enjoys ophthalmology cases. He started studying for a certificate in ophthalmology in 2016, so if your pet has an eye issue, he is your vet.
Pip and Cookie are Jamie’s two elderly rescue dogs. Jamie describes them as a smelly old Jack Russell and a less-old ex-badger baiter. Jamie also has 2 cats, Binx, who was reared by Jamie and his wife Frankie from 3 days' old after her mother had been shot dead. He also has an older cat called Alice and 2 Guinea Pigs, Obama Pig and Trump Pig.
